According to statistics, there are currently 122 metal silicon submerged arc furnaces operating in Xinjiang, with 170 metal silicon submerged arc furnaces currently in operation, a decrease of 7 units from the previous month and an increase of 10 units year-on-year. The operating rate this month was 71.76%, a decrease of 5.02% from the previous month; the production capacity was 124,450 tons, and the total monthly production capacity is expected to be 109,700 tons, an increase of 1,400 tons from the previous month.

The start of silicon metal factories in Xinjiang dropped slightly this month, mainly due to the abnormal production of individual factories, which reduced production of 1-3 furnaces, and large factories also reduced production due to carbon emissions. In the case that the electricity price generally rises to 60 cents during the dry season in the south, the electricity price of large power grids in Xinjiang is about 30 cents, which still has a strong cost advantage. However, coal washing, ore washing, and inconvenient transportation in winter, resulting in product quality degradation and transportation problems, are still more troublesome for manufacturers. At present, the social inventory of silicon metal is large, and shipments from some factories are slow. However, there is currently no plan for large-scale production reduction in Xinjiang, and only individual production cycle adjustments will be suspended for maintenance in turn. It is expected that by January, the operating rate of Xinjiang's silicon metal plant will maintain a small change at around 70%.
